Il Convegno Internazionale "Eredità e attualità del Futurismo" sarà ospitato dal Centro Culturale Elsa Morante, uno spazio polifunzionale situato in Piazzale Elsa Morante nel quartiere Eur Laurentino a Roma.

Legacy and currency of Futurism

The conference aims to provide a critical and updated survey on the legacy and currency of Futurism.
The centenary of 2009 provided an opportunity for hundreds of events scattered throughout the country: high-profile scientific conferences, well-groomed exhibitions staged with rigor, relevant new publications on the subject. All these events, though, revealed a limit: they remained within  the mere boundaries of historical reconstruction, and  did not deal, or they did it just sporadically, with the crucial point of the legacy and currency of the Futurist ideology and poetics. Aim of the conference is to bring together and compare the voices of those who have helped to trace the poetic and / or ideological line which, starting from Futurism, has developed with more or less manifest influences throughout the twentieth century. Therefore, all those scholars or thinkers who have researched on the legacy and the currency of the Futurist ideology and/or poetics, will be invited to participate to the event.
The conference will take place on 11th-12th April 2013 at the Cultural Center Elsa Morante (Piazzale Elsa Morante, Rome-Eur).
The reports will be subsequently collected and published by Avanguardia 21 Editions and Lantana in co-edition.

The focus of the conference is:

• The legacy of Futurism in the artistic movements and the avant-garde of the late twentieth century

• The legacy of Futurism in the poetics of individual artists working in the late twentieth century

• The currency of futurist poetics, aesthetics, ideology in artistic, cultural, scientific contemporary movements

• Current means of research, diffusion, promotion and reception in the range of studies on Futurism (archives, yearbooks, computerization of texts, etc.).

The invited scholars are requested to confirm their adherence to the conference by writing within 9th March 2013 to futurismoroma2013@yahoo.it  and by communicating at the same address the title of their report within March 15th.

Eredità e attualità del Futurismo

Il convegno intende realizzare una ricognizione critica e aggiornata sull’eredità e l’attualità del Futurismo.

Il centenario del 2009 ha offerto l’occasione per centinaia di eventi sparsi su tutto il territorio nazionale: convegni dall’alto profilo scientifico, esposizioni curate e allestite con rigore, rilevanti nuove pubblicazioni sul tema. Ma tutti questi eventi hanno mostrato un limite: quello di essere rimasti all’interno della pura ricostruzione storica e di non aver affrontato, se non sporadicamente, un nodo cruciale, quello dell’eredità e dell’attualità dell’ideologia e della poetica futurista. Obiettivo del convegno è mettere insieme e a confronto le voci di coloro che hanno contribuito a tracciare quella linea poetica e/o ideologica che, partendo dal Futurismo, si è sviluppata, con influssi più o meno manifesti, per tutto il XX secolo. Saranno quindi invitati a partecipare quegli studiosi o pensatori che hanno sviluppato nel tempo ricerche relative all’eredità e attualità dell’ideologia e/o poetica futuriste.

Il convegno si svolgerà nei giorni 11-12 aprile 2013 presso il Centro Culturale Elsa Morante (Piazzale Elsa Morante, Roma-Eur).

Le relazioni saranno successivamente raccolte e pubblicate (in co-edizione tra Avanguardia 21 Edizioni e Lantana).

Queste le linee-guida del convegno:

• L’eredità del Futurismo nei movimenti artistici e nelle avanguardie del secondo Novecento
• L’eredità del Futurismo nella poetica di singoli artisti operanti nel secondo Novecento
• L’attualità della poetica, dell’estetica, dell’ideologia futurista nei movimenti artistici, culturali, scientifici contemporanei
• Strumenti attuali di ricerca, diffusione, promozione e ricezione nell’ambito degli studi sul Futurismo (archivi, annuari, digitalizzazione dei testi, etc.)

Gli studiosi invitati sono pregati di confermare l’adesione al convegno scrivendo entro il 9 marzo 2013 a futurismoroma2013@yahoo.it e comunicando allo stesso indirizzo il titolo della loro relazione entro il 15 marzo.
